Study on the Influences of Combined Pollution of Heavy Metals Cu and Pb on Soil Respiration

2008
[Objective] The purpose was to compare the influences of combined pollution of heavy metals Cu and Pb and their single pollutions on soil respiration intensity.[Method] In the lab,the alkali absorption was used to study the influences of Cu or Pb and their combined pollution on soil respiration intensity and the dynamic change along with time.[Result] The influences of single and combined pollutions of heavy metals Cu and Pb on soil respiration intensity varied with heavy metal concentration and culture time. The comparison between combined and single pollution treatments showed that when Cu and Pb coexisted, their influences on soil respiration intensity first increased and then decreased along with time. The influence on soil respiration intensity in order was the combined pollution of Cu and Pb Pb Cu,which showed that Cu and Pb had some synergetic effects. The CO2 release amount of combined pollution was higher than that of single pollutions of Pb and Cu in the initial stage, which had some promoting effects on soil respiration.[Conclusion] The experimental results supplied scientific basis for studying the influence of heavy metal pollution on soil microorganism and evaluating soil environmental quality.
