The invention provides a compensation method for differential compaction in a seismic inversion process. The compensation method is characterized by comprising the following steps: finishing seismic inversion by utilizing well-shooting logging data in a work area and extracting a wave impedance planar graph; after carrying out detail correlation of a reservoir bed, counting depth difference data between a sample point coordinate and a sample point; deriving a wave impedance numerical value along a seismic interpretation layer in a numerical value format; establishing a corresponding relation according to x and y geodetic coordinates of the wave impedance numerical value and a geodetic coordinate of the sample point of the detail correlation of the reservoir bed to obtain a relational expression of increasing the wave impedance numerical value by increasing the depth; and carrying out calculation on wave impedance data derived by the relational expression for the second time to form a graph on a plane again so as to obtain a planar wave impedance vector graph after compensating the compaction effect. According to the compensation method provided by the invention, the change of the wave impedance value of a stratum, caused by lithological changes, is expressed to the greatest extent and data loss caused by partitioning a seismic body is avoided; and the compensation method has the characteristics of guaranteeing the integrity of the data, guaranteeing the working quality and the accuracy of the inversion and improving the working efficiency.
