Correlation between Worm Infection and Level of Hemoglobin among Reproductive’s Women who is lived at River Banks in Urban Village Tamansari Bandung

Anemia is the condition with the level of hemoglobin, hematrocit or number of erythrocyte less than normal.1,2 Anemia is a general problem of public health in the world.3 Anemia usually happens on reproductive age woman.4 There are some factors cause of anemia such as malnutrition and infection.2 Chronic infection such as worm infection related with anemia. According to WHO (2011), worms infection can be infected by one or more parasitic worms in gut or intestines.5 The objective of the research is to know about the correlation between worms infection cases and level of hemoglobin on women reproductive who is lived at River banks in Urban Village Taman Sari Bandung. The research had been conducted with observational analytic and cross sectional approach. Sample size are 75 reproductive women, determined with simple random sampling. Statistical analysis used Chi square, with epi info program 7. The results showed subjects had infected by worm eggs amount of 5,30%. Amount of subject with level of hemoglobin less than 12gr% (anemia) are 9,30%. Statistical analysis of the association between worm infection and level of hemoglobin more than 0,05 (p =1,0). In conclusion, there is no statistical significant correlation between worm infection and level of hemoglobin.
