The Significance of Intercultural Cognition in English Teaching of Arts College

Through the analysis of the students and the teaching methods in Arts College and combined with the observation of daily teaching,it comes to the conclusion that the biggest obstacle in English learning is the lack of cultural knowledge.To improve the students' intercultural communication competence,this paper presents the effective ways to introducing target-language culture and the significance of intercultural cognition in English teaching of Arts College.
