A Novel On-Site Short-Circuit Test Method Improving The Stability And Reliability Of The Distribution Network

Short-circuit test is an effective method to detect flaws in product design, material and manufacture processing of the distribution transformer production before the operation. Conventional method of short-circuit test is inefficient for distribution transformer. Therefore, a new method, using mobile power supply charged with normal 380V three phase power source, which can be used to conduct the short-circuit test on distribution transformer quickly and cost-effectively, is developed and validated. In this paper, the developing process, model simulation and on-site validation tests of this new short-circuit test method are detailed explained.
