ST segment or/and T wave changes are typical for myocardial ischemia. They occurr in resting ECG as well as during exercise test or 24-hour Holter monitoring when performed in patients with coronary artery disease. Silent ischemia is defined as the presence of typical STT complex changes without concomitant anginal pain. The diagnosis in silent ischemia is often very difficult especially in completely asymptomatic patients.
