2P-34 : membrane modification by parylene coating

Chemical Vapor Deposition(CVD) using paracyclophane makes possible Parylene nano coating with excellent properties. In this study, functionalized paracyclophane such as 4-formyl-[2.2]paracyclophane, 4-Hydroxy [2.2] paracyclophane was synthesized and coated on target substrate via vapor deposition polymerization. Functional nano coating on substrate was possible by CVD of functionalized paracyclophane. The functionalized parylene nano coating was able to control the hydrophilicity of substrate. In addition, it was confirmed that porous membrane surface can be modified without blocking the pores.
