Architecture of the Virtual District Platform in Broadcast Network Foundation Scene

Network infrastructure and its applications promote mutually. Nowadays, the mobile networks have enlarged the wired networks greatly. It is imperative to implement valuable mobile applications. In the mobile network, change of users’ positions is a main feature. It’s a new demand to enable mobile users to find the service related to his time and position. In the virtual district platform proposed in this paper, mobile users can find the services near him, and comunicates with others nearby to find useful information. The virtual district platform we designed supports three network situations, that is, the WLAN/LAN with broadcasting, peer to peer comunicaiton with Internet or 3G network, and pure peer to peer enviorment without infrastructure support. The architecture of the virtual district platform in the WLAN/LAN with broadcasting support is proposed in the paper. And the message delivery mechinism, the determination of the virtual district scope, and the basic fouctions in that situation are also discussed.
