Effects of thymosin on TNF-α and IL-2 in serum in mice of immunological liver injury

2009
Aim To study the regulation of thymosin on TNF-α and IL-2 in serum in mice of immunological liver injury. Methods The effects of thymosin on the TNF-α and IL-2 in serum in mice of immunological liver injury were determined and contrasted with the normal mice. Results The mice of immunological liver injury were immuno deficient and their TNF-α in serum were higher than those of the normal group and the thymosin group(P0.01),but IL-2 were lower than those of the normal group(P0.01)and the thymosin group(P0.05).Thymosin protected mice from immunological liver injury by decreasing TNF-α and increasing IL-2.Conclusion Thymosin effectively improves the immune function of the host and protects mice from immunological liver injury.
