Modularized program of effective 3D elastic constant calculation on thick composite laminate structures

To implement the modularized calculation of effective 3D elastic constants of thick composite laminate structures,based on MSC Patran platform,a modularized calculation program is developed by the secondary development language PCL of MSC Patran. The program can generate the equivalent 3D orthotropic anisotropy materials automatically for the thick composite laminate structures which are formed by periodically stacking sequence. It is applied to the static analysis on composite solar wing connecting frame,the 3D orthotropic anisotropy materials of all the local composite structures of connecting frame are generated,and the strain analysis results of the structures under design loading are obtained. The comparison of the finite element analysis result and the test result indicates that the program can effectively calculate the 3D effective elastic constants of thick composite laminate structures and improve the efficiency and reliability of 3D modeling on composite structures.
