Sleeve Gastrectomy in Immunocompromised Patients

This chapter reports on the safety profile and the postoperative adverse events associated with performing sleeve gastrectomy in the immunocompromised patients. The optimal perioperative timing of the various immunosuppressive therapies will also be discussed in detail. Finally, the outcomes of immunocompromised patients in terms of weight loss, improvement in associated comorbidities and the impact on their rheumatoid disorders and the autoimmune conditions will be reviewed.
