COLLAGEN MATRIX IN TREATMENT OF LOCALIZED RECESSIONS OF GUM OF NON-INFLAMMATORY ETIOLOGY

2020
The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of the collagen matrix in combination with a coronally moved flap in the treatment of localized gum recessions of non-inflammatory genesis. The study involved 73 patients with localized gum recessions, which eliminated this pathology using a collagen matrix or subepithelial graft. The largest percentage of defect coverage in the recession area was obtained in the group (after 1 year it amounted to 93%) where we used the improved method using a collagen membrane. In the comparison group, where a subepithelial connective tissue graft was used, the percentage of coverage was 88,8% after 1 year, which also corresponds to good indicators.
