One-Pot Synthesis of 4-Hydroxy-3-phenyl-2H-pyrano[3,2-b]benzofuran-2-one Derivatives.

Abstract Novel 4-hydroxy-3-phenyl-2H-pyrano[3,2-b]benzofuran-2-ones (15a–d), were synthesized in a one-step procedure by the reaction of substituted benzofuran-3-ones 12a–d and (chlorocarbonyl)phenyl ketene.
