Photodetector with electronic protection from strong exposures
1986
This paper describes a device consisting of an FEU-119 photomultiplier, a high-voltage power supply, and a dc amplifier, to which a protection circuit that controls the high-voltage power supply is connected. The protection circuit is actuated when the output voltage of the amplifier exceeds 7 V. The device converts luminous fluxes of 1.10/sup -11/ -3.10/sup -8/ 1m to 2.10/sup -3/-6 V. The zero drifts of the amplifier and the photomultiplier supply do not exceed 1 mV and 0.1%, respectively, per 10 C in the range of -20 to +50 C.
