Procedure for purification of recombinant human erythropoietin from cell culture supernatants and recombinant human erythropoietin obtained with this procedure

1999
"PROCEDURE FOR HUMAN ERYTHROPOIETIN The purification of recombinant cell culture supernatants FROM AND HUMAN RECOMBINANT ERYTHROPOIETIN OBTAINED WITH SUCH A PROCEDURE." The present invention relates to a method for obtaining recombinant human EPO high purity. The claimed process is characterized, moreover, to avoid exposing the protein to extremes of temperature and organic solvents can affect its biological activity or result toxic for use in humans. The procedure consists of a differential precipitation, a hydrophobic interaction chromatography, concentration and diafiltration, anion and cation chromatography successive, new concentration and diafiltration and size exclusion chromatography. The procedure is distinguished by liquid chromatography steps did not use high pressure and a high percentage of EPO recovery. The invention also comprises EPO obtained according to the described procedure.
