An Investigation on In Vivo and In Vitro Glycated Proteins by Matrix Assisted Laser Desorption/Ionization Mass Spectrometry

The reaction products of RNase with glucose and fructose, at different concentrations and incubation times were studied by Matrix Assisted Laser Desorption/Ionization Mass Spectrometry. Clear differences in the reactivity of the two sugars were found. Different spectra were obtained analyzing diabetic and healthy serum samples by the same analytical technique.
