ANALISIS PENGELOLAAN PUSAT INFORMASI DAN KONSELING REMAJA BERBASIS MASYARAKAT DI WILAYAH YOGYAKARTA

Quality youth are highly expected in improving national development. In Indonesia, the effort to increase the quality of human resources, especially youth, has always met obstacles. Therefore, the effort to reduce youngster’s risky behaviors is needed, that is by using community based Youth Counseling and Information Centre (in Indonesia it is termed PIKR). This study aims to find out how the community based youth counseling and information centre is managed in Yogyakarta.This research was conducted using the qualitative method with a descriptive case study design. The subjects of this research were PIKR managers, PIKR users, and related stakeholders. The data were collected using indepth interviews, observation and document investigation. To find out the validity of the data, the triangulation resource method was conducted. Analysis of data were carried out using the explanation building qualitative method. The Lentera Merapi PIKR, Friends PIKR and Tunas Harapan PIKR are examples of community based PIKR and they involve community empowerment and related stakeholders in all of their activities. Lentera Merapi PIKR has a good management support, especially in the organization, implementation, and evaluation. Services with a primary health care concept (PHC) such as the community based PIKR is necessary. This is also related to changing the society’s mindset, in order for them to come before not after they get sick. The effective management of the community based PIKR needs support from the manager, community empowerment, and coordination among various stakeholders. Keywords : Management, PIKR, community
