Absorptive Surface Based on Graphene Composite for Advanced EMI Suppression

2019
This work introduces an absorptive surface based on graphene composite for the electromagnetic interference (EMI) suppression in high-speed circuits and packages. It is demonstrated that the radiation power is mainly absorbed by this surface, which shows distinct mechanism with previous reported electromagnetic bandgap (EBG) structures and meanwhile provides less reflection and larger bandwidth. Further, the samples working at different frequencies are fabricated and tested in the heatsink/chip scene. The results indicate that the proposed structure could realize high-frequency EMI suppression with above 3 GHz bandwidth at 15 GHz and 26.5 GHz, respectively.
