Nonlinear Output Feedback Control of Bidirectional dc-dc Power Converter for V2X BEV Charger: Theoretical Analysis and Experimental Results

In this paper, the control of the bidirectional dc-dc power converter for the V2X battery electric vehicle charger is processed. After accurate modeling of the studied system (dc-dc power converter associated with electric vehicle battery packs), a nonlinear output feedback controller is designed to meet two main objectives: (i) Estimating the battery state of charge (SOC), and (ii) Ensuring and safeguarding battery-charging and battery-discharging during grid-to-vehicle (G2V) and Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) operating modes, respectively. Finally, numerical simulations and experimental validation are performed which clearly illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed controller.
