Study on a Model of Cyan Color Text Perceptual Sharpness with Multi-strokes

A model of perceptual sharpness of multi-strokes cyan text has been established in the research.Firstly,we chose the staple boldface in the font size of 6.5pt and 10.5pt and used ink-jet printer to output it on the 16 kinds of representative printing paper respectively.Based on the ISO/IEC13660 standard regarding line properties,we chose the property index which can best reflect the character sharpness,correlated the subjective evaluation results with the property index,and realized the evaluation model of perceptual sharpness of multi-strokes cyan text.It turns out that perceptual sharpness of multi-strokes cyan text relates to the contrast,raggedness,blurriness and width of the character lines.The contrast has the greatest effect on the perceptual sharpness and positively relates with it,that is to say,a bigger contrast corresponds to a higher perceptual sharpness.However,the raggedness,blurriness and width of the character lines negatively relate with the perceptual sharpness.In other words,the perceptual sharpness will decrease with the increase of the raggedness,blurriness and width of the character lines.
