Recurrent cerebrospinal fluid rhinorrhea: a case report.

: Presented is a young man who continued to have CSF rhinorrhea for 3.5 years before the diagnosis was incidentally made. This man had undergone several high-quality physical examinations without detection of the problem. CSF rhinorrhea occurs when the cribriform plate is fractured and a fistula forms through the entrapped meninges. Diagnosis can usually be made with either CT scan or nuclear medicine studies. Repair of the fistula is essential to prevent meningitis.
