Structure Formation in a Wire Made of Austenitic–Martensitic VNS9-Sh TRIP Steel during Drawing

2021
The structural-phase transformations that occur in various sections of a wire rod made of austenitic–martensitic VNS9-Sh (23Kh15N6AM3-Sh) TRIP steel at various stages of cold drawing are discussed. The structure of the near-surface layers of a wire 0.36 mm in diameter is found to be completely austenitic. The results of computer simulation of the stress distribution over the cross section of the wire are used to make an assumption about the nature of the structure formation.
