Prospects for the Development of Coal Exports of Republic of Sakha (Yakutia)

The coal industry of Yakutia is the third largest gross region product contributor by economic type of activity - “mining”. In the Russian Federation. The Republic is the largest exporter of coke concentrate to the countries of the Asia-Pacific region. Research of the possibilities to increase coal exports is relevant. The studies used official statistics and program documents and the results of the authors’ calculations. The article reflects the current state of the republic’s coal industry: coal mining, processing, coal delivery. A review of the status of coal reserves is given. Coal deposits of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) that are promising for increasing coal exports are presented. A review and status of coal development projects of the republic presented in the program documents is given. Possible volumes of coal production of export quality in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) are determined. The factors restraining the development of coal production of export quality are formulated. The necessary measures for increasing coal exports are presented.
