Sintering dunite over the length of a rotary kiln

1973
A study was made of the processes of transformation and sintering of Solov'evogorsk dunite during firing, in the rotary kiln commencing from the loading end, we determined the following zones: preheat (0–12 m), dehydration of the brucite and serpentine (12–42 m), sintering (42–55 m), and cooling of the material (55–60 m). The structural and mineralogical changes of the fresh and weathered dunites were clarified across the length of the kiln.
