UAB: AVANÇOS E DESAFIOS NA PERCEPÇÃO DE DOCENTES.

Distance education is a teaching method which Information Technologies and Communication have been used by students and teachers whom are separated physically or geographically and it is a essential condition to interaction between them. This paper presents the advances and challenges found in perception of teachers who teach in distance education. The aim of this work is to identify the strengths and the aspects that need improvement in the distance education model and the conception from a particular group of teachers, whom uses the Moodle virtual learning environment for educational activities in Brazilian Open University (UAB). Based on a qualitative and quantitative analysis the teacher's responses were listed in order to identify the advantages and challenges presented by them. The results present the importance of teachers perception once the positive factors are seen as facilitators to interaction and student learning as well as for a better education quality.
