Parametric Devices & their Applications in Quantum Communication - Photon statistics and insights in Quantum relay scenarios

During this lecture, I will review several nonlinear parametric devices enabling bright entangled photon-pair generation, as well as nonlinear coherent frequency converters dedicated to transpose qubits photonic carriers from one wavelength to another. I will also introduce basic quantum optics tools necessary to infer quantum modes photon statistics, then show how to exploit those tools for characterizing various quantum light sources (parametric devices, NV centers in diamond, quantum dots, etc.), and finally discuss some potential applications in quantum relay scenarios.
