NEXUS:Fusing theReal & theVirtual

Theaimofthisproject hasbeentocreate NEXUS,a framework thatsupports fusion ofthePhysical andtheVirtual, creating asingle worldinwhichpeople can interact withdeliberative agents intheir own space. This work promotesa more orthogonal perspective forthe development ofartificial systems andtheir functionality as tools. ThisNEXUS becomesa placeinwhichvirtual and physical information spaces becomeentwined, resulting in theentities thatinhabit this spacebeingabletointeract ina seamless fashion. Thelevel ofinteraction envisaged isnot simply a matterofpeople controlling theformofavirtual space, orevenoneofartificial entities thatcontrol theform ofaphysical space. Instead, weviewtheNEXUSasafusion ofphysical andvirtual spaces inwhichanumberofentities jointly interact. Thisthenfacilitates thecoherent integration ofhumansandthedigital information space.
