2020
Objective: Analyzed and compared levels of physical fitness related to motor performance in children and adolescentes and classify according to age and gender. Methods: It is a cross-sectional study with a sample of 648 participants (328 male and 320 female) between the ages of 7 and 16 years. To determine physical fitness related to motor performance was used the PROESP-BRtesting battery, which includes measures of explosive upper limb force (medicineball pitch), explosive strength of lower limbs (horizontal jump), agility (square test) and speed test (20 meter run). Results: The data obtained revealed percentage of participants classified as lowers levels and reasonable levels in all variables evaluated. In the comparison the boys presented better results (p<0.05) but some results were the same as for girls in specific age groups (p<0.05). Conclusion: Numbers worry and indicate that the incentive to the global corporal practices were below the expected for the studied population. Understanding social, cultural and motivational aspects are important for planning sports practices for boys and girls.
