Transportation Policy and Governance in the Northeast Corridor: An Overview of Major Public Agencies
2009
The lack of systematic planning and policy-making to optimize the Northeast Corridor's (NEC’s) overall transportation infrastructure is obviously not due to an absence of agencies and organizations that focus on the Corridor and its subareas. The opposite is true. A mosaic exists, and the intent of this report is to provide an overview of the array of public entities that, in addition to those of the national government and state departments of transportation, have formal responsibility for planning and policy-making for some portion of the NEC’s primary transportation infrastructure and service operations.
