Numerical simulation about erosion characteristics of solid particle in slurry pump

With the application of Reynolds eddy viscosity model,Discrete-phase flow model and the SIMPLE(Semi-implicit method for pressure-linked equations) algorithm,the numerical simulation about solid-liquid two-phase turbulence in the full passage field of centrifugal slurry pump was carried on.The effects of pump speed,solid-phase particle size and parameter of blade impact on characteristics of particle erosion were researched.The results show that with the increase of pump speed or particle size,particle impact on the location of the blade surface gradually move towards the start side of blade,and particle impact velocity and impact angle also increase.Impellers with different blade parameters significantly affect the erosion behavior of solid-phase particles.Numerical simulation results can be applied to anti-erosion wear impeller design optimization.
