Introduction The handball goalkeeper occupies a privileged position within the team. since his performance determines to a large extent the victory or defeat of your team. This puts a special burden on both physical as well as psychological, which frequently causes him to suffer a greater number of injuries. objective This article seeks to know the biomechanical factors that provoke injuries that, more specific form, are given in the handball goalkeeper, depending on the different positions tactics in which it is. Material and method It is a descriptive study. The athletes studied belong to clubs in the province of Seville and Andalusian Selections, all of them aged between 16 and 18 years, which they have been playing as federated for at least three years and train, at least, three days a week. The Data collection has been done through surveys and specific assessments. Results It has been found that the most frequent injuries are those due to the interceptions made in the intermediate and low area of ​​the goal, in addition to the possible influence of insufficient preparation physical and warm up prior to sports activity. Conclusions Among other aspects, we emphasize that, given the specific nature of the goalkeeper's sporting gesture of handball, is also specific in this athlete the appearance of certain injuries in the superior member, deriving from it fundamental the biomechanical study of this one and the existence of a good multidisciplinary team coordinated for the prevention of both injuries and recurrences.
