Analysis of Clinical Outcome in 93 Breast Cancer Patients with Conservative Surgery and Radiotherapy

【Objective】 To investigate the clinical outcome and the side effect of radiotherapy after conservative surgery for breast cancer.【Method】 Altogether 93 patients were treated with conservative surgery and whole breast radiotherapy from January, 2001 to December, 2006 in our hospital.We follow up the local recurrence and distant metastasis and observe the side effect of radiotherapy according to RTOG standard.【Results】 All patients are followed up with the median period 42.5 months.there is no one with local recurrence and distant metastasis.The side effect of the whole-breast radiotherapy is from 1 to 2 grade.【Conclusion】 The clinical outcome of the whole breast radiotherapy after conservative surgery is good and the side effect is mild.
