Quantum dot nanocomposite polymers for radiation detection and nuclear security

We present initial results from a study embedding commercially available CdS/ZnS and CdSeS/ZnS quantum dots in PVT-based plastic scintillators. Sample fabrication details and optical characterisation measurements are discussed alongside an assessment of radiation detection performance.
