Hospital infection knowledge training in hospital infection management: an applied research.

OBJECTIVE To investigate the effective use of professional training on hospital infection in the hospital infection management.METHODS The 3 years training(from 2006 to 2008) was in the following four levels:professional training for specialists,purposeful training with certain target,planned training within newly formed and practice expanded departments,and relevant training on hospital infection concerning about public health events and incidents related to hospital infection.The above forms were adopted in the hospital infection management.RESULTS The hospital′s professional staff for infectious disease remained stable,with improving skills.The professional knowledge degree about infectious disease continued to increase hospital-wide,therefore,the pass rate of the exam about hospital infection increased year by year.The problem solving ability for potential risks concerning about hospital infection was strengthened,so that a rapid response for local epidemic was enhanced.CONCLUSIONS Full-time staff for hospital infection management should continue professional training on hospital infection knowledge,thus improving the quality of hospital infection control.
