Screening Questionnaires, Scales and Approach to Patients with Psychodermatologic Disorders

In this chapter, we present the main concepts to approach a patient with a psychodermatologic disorder. We present general topics to conduct a clinical history in psychodermatology as well as to perform a brief assessment of psychopathology and quality of life, that could be done in the context of general medicine. Most of these patients are not firstly seen by a specialist in psychodermatology. General education in this domain allows to identify relevant psychosocial aspects in dermatology, to address potentially easier clinical cases and to quickly refer those with risk criteria.
