Éros, le cri et l'anaphore: Signaux pour les voyants de Gilles Hénault

1999
Signaux pour les voyants by Gilles Henault involves its readers in a reflection on language. A paradoxical reflection, however, since these poems use language to disparage language. This iconistic ambition is as old as poetry itself which, enamored of sensuality, barely consents to words on paper making love to each other once they have "escaped" through the cry of the human voice. Gilles Henault's originality is to take up anew these erotics of the "speaking body" by obliging words with different ancestries to conclude worthy aesthetic alliances that cut across and even contradict his own political ideology.
