Comparative analysis on CNN and wavelet features based technology for medical image classification

The paper below introduces a comparative analysis between two image classification technologies for the purposes of medical breast cancer. The first technology is based on the concept of convolutional neural networks, and the second one on the use of feature vectors generated by wavelet transform and the use of Euclidean distance to determine similarity. Experiments are performed using both technologies and a specialized test database. Based on the obtained results, the classification accuracy, precision and recall measures are determined. The obtained values are compared, analyzed and summarized, as the data show comparable values of classification in the technologies presented in the report.
