The role of surgery in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia has evolved due to the introduction of new forms of energy and devices. This chapter explores the different surgical procedures in the management of benign prostatic hyperplasia. It is organized according to the type of procedure performed based on prostatic volume. For each procedure, a brief technique is described, as well as the efficacy and common complications associated with these urological interventions. This chapter should enable the reader to identify the indications for the surgical management of benign prostatic hyperplasia and compare the most commonly performed surgical procedures in the management of benign prostatic hyperplasia.
