Simulation Research on Rapid Decompression of Aircraft Cabins

2019
In this paper, a model for simulating the rapid decompression of aircraft cabins is developed. The air flow between the cabins as well as between the damaged compartment and the external environment is simulated by assuming a reversible transformation of the insulation. Mathematical modelling for the active ventilation equipment is provided, with an emphasis on the impact of the opening process on the rapid decompression process. The numerical solution is introduced and the influence of the hole’s location on the decompression process is highlighted. The comparison with the literature results proves the effectiveness of the proposed method. This method can also be applied to the rapid decompression analysis of the actual aircraft.
