Coronary artery subclavian steal syndrome has an incidence of 0.2-0.7%. First described in 1974 by Harjola and Valle, it results from >70% stenosis of the proximal subclavian artery, most commonly due to atherosclerotic disease. This results in lower pressure gradient in the distal subclavian artery
