The maternal-child health program of Banderas.

1975
A case study concerning the handling of administrative problems in a maternal and child health program is presented for class discussion. The study focuses on 2 problems that the director of the program has identified. The 1st concerns the overabundance of information in the form of questionnaires and clinic reports that is continually brought to him by supervisors. He wishes to limit this information particularly since most of it is not discussed and is of little use in directing the program toward fulfillment of its objectives. His 2nd problem is changing the present 1 way system of supervision to a 2 way system. The maternal and child health program is described in terms of its organization and its methods of supervision. The following 5 exhibits are presented: 1) number and type of medical consultations; 2) an organizational chart; 3) organizational chart of the technical departments; 4) a supervision and clinical evaluation report and 5) a supervision guide and employee record.
