99Ru (←99Rh) as a TDPAC Probe in the Study of a High-Tc Superconductor

A radiochemical procedure has been established to dope carrier-free 99Rh in YBa2Cu3O7−x. The time-differential perturbed-angular correlation of γ-rays emitted from the nuclear excited levels of the daughter nuclide 99Ru in the superconducting and semiconducting samples with x99Ru is a useful hyperfine-interaction probe comparable to 57Fe.0.2 and 1.0, respectively, revealed the hyperfine electric quadrupole interaction for the former and the magnetic interaction in addition for the latter.
