The invention discloses a method and a device for warning vehicle torque limit and vehicle speed limit. The method comprises the following steps: as for various faults causing torque limit and vehicle speed limit, respectively setting warning time 1 shorter than torque limit activation time 1 and warning time 2 shorter than vehicle speed limit activation time 2; judging whether the timing time t of each fault is longer than or equal to the warning 1 and is shorter than or equal to the limit 1 or not and performing torque limit warning when the timing time of any one fault meets the condition; judging whether the timing time t of each fault is longer than or equal to the warning 2 and is shorter than or equal to the limit 2 or not and performing vehicle speed limit warning when the timing time of any one fault meets the condition. According to the method and the device disclosed by the invention, drivers can better foresee the running state of the whole vehicle, so that the probability of the torque limit and the vehicle speed limit caused by serious faults and the effect on the vehicle can be reduced.
