Nutritional and Functional Characteristics of New Concentrated Bee Products

The skimmed hemp seeds, a by-product of the manufacture of of the hemp seeds oil, became more and more interesting because of their composition. Cannabis sativa L. and its seeds, has an important functional potential, being a significant source of omega 3 and omega 6, fibers and minerals. The aim of research was to determine the nutritional and functional characteristics of concentrated bee products (honey, pollen, propolis, royal jelly, bee bread) in addition with partially skimmed hemp seeds.The analysis of the nutritional properties of samples from the new bee products enriched with different levels of hemp seeds (20%, 40%, 50% and 60%) was done to demonstrate their functionality.
