Investigation of wild vegetable resources in Zhangjiajie region.

According phytogeography principle,by interviewing mountain people and conducting field survey type,reserves,vertical distribution and food value,edible parts,harvesting season,health functions and the present utiliaztion situations of wild vegetable resources,etc.in Zhangjiajie region was investigated.As a result,about 36 families 65 generas 74 wild vegetable species are discovered,vertical distribution at an altitude of 250 ~ 2 030 m,and there are more species in the high altitude than in the low areas.For most of them,the main edible parts are stem and leaves,while roots,rhizomes,tubers,earthnut are secondly edible,flower is the least.The following measures were put forward:improving techniques of processing,exploring the depth of processing,motoring the development of smaller reserves headed by that of larger reserves,carrying out domestication cultivation,protecting and restoring ecology,and establishing a habitat to cultivate precious mountain vegetables.
