Effects of High Temperature and Air Humidity Stress on Antioxidant System and Antioxidant Activity Differences of Hot Pepper Varieties

2008
The experiment was carried out in climate chambers to investigate the effects of high temperature and air humidity on reduced glutathione(GSH)content, ascorbic acid(AsA)content, carotenoid content, flavonoid content and antioxidative enzyme activities in ten hot pepper varieties leaves under both normal and high temperature and air humidity conditions during seedling stage. The results indicated that contents of AsA and activities of POD,APX increased, and contents of GSH,CAR and activities of DHAR,SOD decreased under high temperature and air humidity stress. There was no regularity of the contents of flavonoid under high temperature and air humidity stress.According to the every index's the relative value, and then the methods of subordinate function was used in evaluation for antioxidant activity differences of hot pepper varieties, and the antioxidant activity followed the sequence:ICWDJHFGEK.
