Prevalence rate and related factors for nosocomial infections

OBJECTIVE To fully investigate the incidence of nosocomial infections and the related factors,and to provide foundation for further targeted surveillance.METHODS By the means of cross-sectional survey and the combination of bedside research and review of medical records in frame,as well as filling out bedside research form and case investigation form,the statistical analysis of the results was performed.RESULTS Totally 658 patients were expected to be involved,with 653 patients actually investigated,the rate of actual investigation was 99.24%;nosocomial infections occurred in 12 case-times with the prevalence rate of 1.84%;the infections ranking the top 3 prevalence occurred in thyroid-breastⅡ ward,NICU,and department of pediatrics medicine;daily application rate of antibiotics was 60.4%.CONCLUSION Prevalence survey provides basis for baseline investigation and points out the direction for target surveillance,thus,making the target surveillance more scientific and pertinent.
