A series of methyl-3-acyl-6-amino-4-aryl-5-cyano-4 H -pyrano-2-carboxylates were synthesized using the reaction of 2,4-dioxobutyric acid methyl esters with arylidenemalononitriles in ethyl acetate in the presence of catalytic amounts of piperidine or morpholine. The structures of obtained compounds have been established on the basis of IR, 1 H NMR, 13 C NMR, and mass spectroscopy data. The antimicrobial, analgesic, and antipyretic activities of synthesized compounds and their effect on the antibody response were studied.
