An Efficient Sensorless Speed-Control of IM Drive System with Different Rotor Configurations

2021
The aim of this paper is to implement a sensorless vector-control system with an efficient speed-estimation procedure for the induction motor (IM) drives with different rotor configurations. A simplified observation method of the mechanical speed is proposed using the principles of the indirect scheme of field orientation (IRFOC) and based on the relations of phase axes for the adopted motor. To assure the observability of the new sensorless algorithm for speed-control process, a complete analysis supported with the test results under different states of operation are realized. The analysis validate the efficacy of the new speed-estimation procedure which validate its observability and robustness for the adopted system's sensorless vector control methodology.
