We also saw no significant correlation between gestational age and CK-BB concentration; however, we did not look at amniotic fluid taken before the 14th week of gestation. In contrast to the findings of Poxall and Emery, we demonstrated increased CK-BB in the amniotic fluid of two women carrying anencephalic fetuses. We also found increased CK-BB in one caseof malignant sacrococcygeal teratoma, one case of gastroschisis, and one case of twins, possibly because the two infants were in one amniotic sack.
